A sparse but active dozen member group came to breakfast this morning, but we were without a speaker and speaker chair because of illness.
Jeff Gauger reviewed Sleep in Heavenly Peace developments, noting that $6,000 worth of high quality wood has been accessed for our planned Build Day on Feb. 15 (Sign up HERE.) We expect to produce 100 beds for assembly and are hoping to have SHP chapters from outside our area join us. 112 mattresses have been purchased (at $7K), and GCI is preparing the wood for finish sanding, drilling, staining, and pre-assembly. Our contact at GCI has been promoted, so it was suggested that we have them back to speak with the Club to talk about the changes and introduce the unfamiliar folk to each other.
John Farah is celebrating his birthday, and Jack Proffitt had his this past week.
Greg Hilliker reminded the group of the upcoming “Seeing Stars Benefit” event, and President Cindy Sullivan has a meeting this week to learn the date and set up planning for this year’s SummerFest. (Limited link HERE but more information will be forthcoming.)
Phil Homblade drew the lucky ticket but could not locate the Queen of Diamonds to win the “Progressive 50/50 Pot”, so the take continues to grow for next week.
Until next time, “Promise Yourself…”
