NEWSLETTER for December 4, 2025

December 4, 2025

Today saw a good turnout of 16 members, many of whom brought in Christmas gifts for MSD kids in anticipation of next week’s Breakfast with Santa, here at Liberty after our normal breakfast gathering on December 11 at 7:30, with kids and families arriving at about 8:15 and Santa scheduled for about 8:30 a.m..

We will have our regular schedule for December 18, but December 25 will be cancelled so that we can open your Christmas coalsacks and spend time with loved ones on Christmas morning. For New Year’s Day, Liberty plans to be open, so we will have our normal scheduled meeting with those who skipped the New Year’s Eve Party or just want a lot of coffee to counteract its after-effects.

Cindy Sullivan recruited support for this evening’s “Flushing Candlewalk” Optimist presence – plan for setting up at about 5:30 downtown and passing out hot cider from 6:00 “until it’s gone”, and dress warm!

Mic Goulet lined up teams for tomorrow’s Bell-Ringing  at ELGA Credit Union (2-hour shifts in cold weather – DRESS WARM!) for the Salvation Army

Jeff Gauger discussed  Sleep in Heavenly Peace events: “Deliveries Across America” assembly event on December 13, and a local Build Day at the still-surviving  Job Corps on January 19.

Sympathies, condolences, and “well-wishes” were passed to Bill Reaves and his family, who are dealing with grief at Bill’s sister’s passing and a variety of other concerns.

NUTTY STUFF:

Steve Schlott told about Jack Medemar’s pre-retirement “generosity” in an interesting story about dentistry. (Ask him about it.) Mic Goulet and Scott Stanley bragged about how their businesses are basking in attention at this time of year. Greg Hilliker is reading up on “Chapter 11” after a series of abusive fines this morning. Jeff Dennings tried to auction off the restaurant’s holiday decorations.

Mic Goulet got “the luck of the draw” on the ticket, but not “THE card” for today’s  $360  “50/50 Progressive Pot”

Until next time,  “Promise Yourself…”
