We gathered today without our illustrious President Cindy Sullivan, who is camping “up north” for the July 4th holiday, and Jeff Dennings stood in for her. Expecting a small crowd, Jeff changed several usual procedures, pledging allegiance to Jack Proffitt’s sleeve (the only flag in the room this morning) and suspending fines and “50/50” ticket sales. All 11 of present members held on to more of our money this morning, and Steve Schlott and Greg Hilliker were especially appreciative of the reprieve!
“Ersatz Prez” Jeff briefly gave us rough numbers for the donations and costs for the SummerFest project and final numbers are still not in, but it looks like we replenished our funds for youth-related projects (see partial list in the above photo). Jeff also showed us the publication blurb for expressing gratitude to our many generous sponsors that is in this week’s“VIEW” newspaper (also in photo above).
Some members have expressed concern about not receiving newsletters and we did some troubleshooting. Extra (Michigan District) Optimist pins from prior years were passed out to interested members, and the group disbanded earlier than usual after sharing breakfast and holiday plans.
